The purpose of our school is to help people deepen their knowledge of God, His Word, and His plan for us

Nikolay Soloha, SFG School 2007 Testimony

Greetings to all brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ! Can you imagine an event that would change your life forever? Let me tell you about an experience in my life that made me take another look at my walk with Christ and helped me to evaluate my priorities.

This life changing event was my attendance of SFG Bible School for two months during summer break. We invested time in reading the Scriptures, personal prayer time and many group activities and interactions. As students we tried to channel lots of positive comments toward each other in the hopes of building each other up.

After spending many hours of study and interaction indoors, we would go to the park and play volleyball or sit on the park benches and study the Bible with friends and have great discussions. I learned that there must be a healthy balance between spiritual wellness and physical fitness.

Many teachers visited the School and taught from God’s Word, including teachers from other states and even some from Ukraine. Every day our attention was riveted to the Word of God, and we benefited greatly from our two month devotion to study the Bible and grow in our walk with Christ. During Bible School we were exposed to the fundamental doctrines and teachings of the Gospel. We spent almost an hour every day practicing interpretation and translation from Ukrainian to English and vice versa. On weekends, we traveled to surrounding churches and sometimes we did fundraisers such as car washes and bake sales. Attending Bible School helped me realize the vast amount of work that must be done before God’s harvest can be gathered.

Before attending Bible School, I had many personal ambitions; I wanted to work and make money so I could travel to other states and countries. I wanted to buy a new car and invest more time into my business. During my attendance at SFG Bible School something within me changed. My priorities changed places; Christ moved to the top of my list, followed by my business and travel. As more time elapsed, I realized that God’s Great Commission for each Christian is to impact the surrounding community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I encourage you to take a stand for Jesus and join forces with the laborers of the last harvest. Jesus said, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.” (Luke 10:2) How are you going to spend your time next summer?
